Located minutes from downtown Orlando, Shindai Aikikai is the largest Aikido school in the Central Florida area. Our nationally renowned head instructors have over 60 years of cumulative training and teaching experience. Founded in 1988, Shindai offers unparalleled training in Aikido and the philosophies of Budo. All instructors are internationally certified students of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, world renowned head of the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba.

A frequent visitor to Shindai, Saotome Shihan remains one of the few individuals who actually lived with and trained under the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba (O'Sensei), for 15 years as a personal disciple.  In addition to our vigorous daily workout schedule, training at Shindai is regularly enhanced through seminars given by Saotome Shihan and guest instructors from around the United States. Through our continuous interactive relationship with Saotome Shihan, Shindai strives to maintain its nationally recognized level of instruction in the principles of Aikido and the philosophies of Budo.
